Babies like smoothies too!

Who doesn't like a refreshing smoothie after a hard day of learning to walk?

Baby J loves smoothies and if you ever have one near her, you might as well hand it over!

A smoothie is an easy way to pack in a lot of nutrients for a powerful snack.

In this smoothie, I add organic fruit, spinach, chia seeds and rice milk.

As a veggie baby, I micro manage her iron, protien and omegas! So with the spinach, chia seeds and rice milk, I can rest easy.

Here are some trusty ingredients.  Then you add whatever you like.  Just watch how much fruit is added.  Don't want to over load the sugar! I added passion fruit yesterday to her smoothie.  If you have never had a passion fruit, then you need to RUN, not walk, to Whole Foods and get one!

Into the baby bullet......

And into the sippy for optimal drinking by a 10 month old!

Tips for fruit:
** I like to buy organic in-season fruit and cut it up into finger food size and freeze.  That way every morning I have fruit for her to eat with breakfast and to throw into smoothies.  If you can catch it on sale, stock up and freeze!!!

Tofutti Cutie

Baby J LOVES her tofu!  It's packed with protein and can be made to taste any way you like.

I buy the firm or extra firm sprouted ORGANIC tofu from Trader Joe's.  I like this because it's split into two packets, so you get more use out of one pack of tofu.  Little kids don't eat that much!

Next I drain, rinse and cut the tofu into little bite size cubes.  Perfect finger food size.  Then I saute them in sauces.  Baby J's favorite is teriyaki sauce!  yum!!

This dish was pair with steamed asparagus and fruit for desert.  I like to serve fruit to add that Vitamin C to help with the iron absorption.  The asparagus, I diced up to finger food size.  I choose to steam my vegetables, because that is how you keep in the most of the nutrients!
And Viola!  She has a healthy, nutritious and yummy dinner.
